The future of home building may have arrived in Calgary.
The modular house was built in Manitoba and trucked to Calgary in six separate pieces.

"It started in our shop six weeks ago, probably six months of prep work went into it...we think this is the wave of the future and we're excited to be involved in it," says Vaughan Stephenson from Conquest Design Builders.

Carpenters, plumbers and electricians will spend the next six weeks hooking everything up to make it ready for move in.

The four-plex will use geothermal heat and is equipped with a smart system which allows the homeowners to adjust lighting and heating from the Internet.

Each is expected to fetch about $550,000.
